Ball Point Pens
Picture
The ballpoint type pens available use either a Parker(C) or Cross(C) style ballpoint refill.  The standard refill is a generic, black ink refill which is tested prior to shipment to insure proper working order.  The standard refills should last several months before requiring replacement.  Replace refills are available at most office supply stores.  Refills are replaced by separating the sections of the pen by simply pulling apart or in some cases by unscrewing the writing tip.  If you would like an upgraded, higher quality refill, I offer Private Reserve brand refills available in black or blue ink.  Upgrade refills are $3.00 each and may be ordered on the Accessories page.
Depending on the style most, ballpoint pens are operated by twisting the upper portion of the pen in order to expose the writing tip.
Click type pens are also availabe by special request.  With the exception of the bolt-action pen, most of the click mechanisms are made of plastic components and do not last under heavy usage.  Twist pens are much more durable and will last a lifetime under normal usage.  If not, I will replace the operating components of your pen; free of charge.  Just contact me for delivery instructions.

Rollerball pens

Picture
Rollerball pens are two-piece pens with a removable cap.  The cap can be postable or non-postable; meaning that the cap can be placed securely on the opposite end of the pen when writing.  Some users prefer non-postable to have a smaller, lighter instrument when writing, while others prefer a larger pen. This is purely personal preference.  If you are unsure, purchase a postable pen, you can always leave the cap off if it is more comfortable.

Rollerball pens use a ceramic ball and liquid ink providing a writing experience similar to a fountain pen, with the convenience of a ballpoint.  The writing tip should remain covered when not in use to prevent the ink from drying on the ball between uses.  The standard refill will  provide a very acceptable writing experience,  however,  an upgrade Private Reserve ink supply is also available for any rollerball.  Private Reserve cartridges are an additional $5.00 and may be ordered on the Accessories page.  Most rollerball style pens are also available in a fountain pen version.  Rollerball and Fountain pen styles are available in Full Size and Jr. Size versions.

Fountain Pens

Picture
Fountain pens offer the ultimate "old school" writing experience!  These pens continue the classic writing technique offering the centuries-old liquid ink style nib and unique writing experience.  Fountain pens are available in a variety of component styles, writing nibs and inks.  Your standard pen will be equipped with a good quality nib (writing tip) and standard black ink cartridge.  I would suggest that we discuss your needs prior to ordering a fountain pen.  This will provide an opportunity to customize your pen. Pen #861 is a standard or Jr Size pen and #859 is a full size.  Rollerball and Fountain pen styles are available in Full Size and Jr. Size versions.

All fountain pens are shipped with the ink cartridge uninstalled.  You should "write" with the pen for at least 30 minutes using a heavy brown paper (similar to a grocery bag) to "set the nib" to your writing style and pressure.  Then install the ink cartridge and initiate ink flow.  Many fountain pen users prefer bottle ink and a converter to deliver the ink to the nib.

Upgrade nibs and ink are available and prices vary.  Email to discuss available options and prices.
